ROBERT MILLER

Bob, a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Civil Engineering is the founder and current President of MSA Engineering in Virginia Beach. Bob is a past President of the National Society of Professional Engineers and three time recipient of the state Engineering Society’s “Engineer of the Year” Award. He is an involved member of the community having served on the Virginia Beach Planning Commission, Virginia Beach Vision, Neptune Festival Committee, Town Center Kiwanis Club, and in his 30th year with Special Olympics and currently the President.

WHITNEY DEAR REYES

Whitney holds an undergraduate degree from James Madison University and a masters degree in Speech Pathology from Old Dominion. She is currently a Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Whitney is very close to her sisters, one of whom has an intellectual disability.

Wendy was born and raised in this area. She graduated with a degree in Special Education from Lynchburg College. John has been with Napolitano Homes since 1983. He also served as president of the Tidewater Builders Association in 2003 and is a member and current president of the Home Builders Association of Virginia. Wendy and John are the parents of a 26-year-old daughter with intellectual disabilities.

 

TOM BATom-BartonRTON III

Tom is a native son of Virginia Beach and earned his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a graduate degree from the NABA Dealer Candidate Academy. He is currently the President of Beach Ford and also serves on the Boards of Towne Bank, the Virginia Aquarium, VB Vision, and the Virginia Beach Police Department Foundation. He is committed to the Development of the new community asset of VGL. Tom is presently representing the City of Virginia Beach as King Neptune!

 

JULIE HARSHAW

Julie and her husband, Chip, adopted a beautiful baby boy named Roman in 2004 from a Siberian orphanage. Several years later they discovered that Roman had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Knowing the lack of options for Roman’s care, the Harshaws are adamant that Vanguard Landing will be built for their son and the hundreds of other people that need this community in order to live their lives to the fullest.  Julie became an active Member of the Board in early 2016 and is excited to lend her skills and passion to the building and growth of Vanguard Landing.

JEFFREY DYCKMAN

Jeffrey is the President of Towne Business Strategy Group. He is a lifelong Virginia Beach resident and attended Old Dominion University. In addition he has his graduate degree from the University of Oklahoma’s Graduate School of Commercial Lending. Throughout his career, he has served in numerous leadership and volunteer capacities, including the Hampton Roads Partnership, Greater Norfolk Corporation, Diabetes Institute Foundation, Virginia Beach Vision and the Tidewater Scholarship Foundation. Dyckman also served as Chairman of the board of the Tidewater Community College Education Foundation.

THOMAS J. LYONS, JR.

Mr. Lyons, a graduate of Georgetown University, founded Tidewater Hotels & Resorts in 1968. During the course of his career, Mr. Lyons has developed and managed over 30 hotels in Virginia and North Carolina. Under his leadership, Coastal Hospitality Associates, LLC was formed to assume management of the hotels as their contracts mature and expire. Throughout his career, Mr. Lyons’ primary focus includes the overall planning and development of hotel sites, their architecture and design, new construction and capital planning/reinvestment strategies.

BOB STANTON

Bob began his real estate career when he joined Goodman Segar Hogan, Inc. in 1966. Over the years he rose through the ranks to become President of the company in 1975. In 1993, Bob retired from active participation at Goodman Segar Hogan to focus on real estate investments and personal interests. Bob currently serves on the board of Towne Bank Norfolk Division, Greater Norfolk Corporation, Old Dominion University Real Estate Foundation, Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation, ACCESS College Foundation, and Town Point Club.

CHRIS SANDERS

Chris began his career in construction in 1981 as an estimator in Montgomery, Alabama. Chris joined McDevitt & Street Company in 1983, Armada Hoffler Construction Company in 1988 and with every move enjoyed promotions often to the highest level of leadership within each company. In 2000, Chris joined the Robinson Development Group as Vice President. Chris’ extensive experience includes a successful completion of a wide variety of projects in the areas of hospitality, retail, office facilities, industrial, and health care projects.

SETH LAMADE

Seth hails from Virginia Beach earned a B.S. degree in Liberal Arts from Regent University and is a US Navy Warrant Officer. He volunteers as a youth sports coach. He has a close relationship to his cousin who has an Intellectual Disability and Downs Syndrome.

TOM KYEWSKI

Tom Kyewski is a local Realtor currently living in Chesapeake. A graduate of Penn College in Pennsylvania, he and his wife have a deep sense of community and strive to help anywhere it is needed. Tom has worked with the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and is very excited to see Vanguard Landing exceed all expectations. He has a deep sense of pride to be a part of this community.
